Tips to Avoid Holiday Stress

The holiday season is known for its hustle and bustle mentality. Everyone is trying to make our lists and check them twice, but often times this mentality leads to stress that can not only ruin our holidays, but negatively affect our health. People should look forward to the holiday season and the start of the New Year. It provides opportunities to spend quality time with family members and go on vacation. However, the American Psychological Association discovered through a poll that 8 out of 10 people anticipate increased stress over the holidays.

Don’t fall victim to the array of demands that come along with the holiday season. With a few practical tips and your negative ions bracelet, you will be able to limit your holiday stress and enjoy this time to the fullest! Here are four ways you can minimize your stress this holiday season:

Plan Ahead

Set aside specific days for shopping and completing holiday errands. Create shopping lists that will help keep you on track! Only so much can go wrong when you have a plan on how you’d like to knock out your holiday to-do list. This will prevent last minute scrambling for forgotten gifts and ingredients.

Prioritize Exercise

Stick to your workout routine or create one specifically to combat any stress incurred by the holiday season like yoga or an aerobics class. Working out might be the last thing on your to-do list after a busy day or holiday errands but it’s worth it! Research has shown that workouts can boost your mood for up to 12 hours, that’s an energy boost to say yes too!

Learn to Say No

Be a picky volunteer! With so many opportunities to give back to the local community, people often overcommit and fill their schedules to the brim with activities. Saying yes when you should say no can leave you with a never ending to-list and extremely overwhelmed.

Stick to a Budget

Decide on the maximum amount you’re willing to spend this season and stick to it. Get creative and think of some gift ideas that don’t involve money. You’ll be tempted to use your credit card, but that can make matters worse, leaving you with debt coming into the New Year. Committing to a budget will help you purchase within your means and without regret!

While keeping these tips in mind remember that negative ions will help boost your efforts in checking things off of your holiday stress and ensure you remain jolly this holiday season!
